There are some apps that you have no idea you need until you stumble upon it and when you do, it makes your workflow more seamless, more elegant. Continu is one of those apps. Having certain apps restart as soon as they are closed is really useful when apps you depend on don't always work correctly. It's great to be able to relaunch apps that crash frequently but I also use it when I force quit frozen apps or close apps that manage their memory poorly like Safari. Those situations save me time but the thing that's made my workflow the most seamless is Continu's parent applications feature. I love being able to launch Photoshop and having Skala start up. I love launching Espresso and having LiveReload & my test browsers being launched up in the background. It happens automatically, I don't have to think about it. I do have one feature I'd love to see in a future version, it would be great if child apps could be closed when the parent app is. I pinged the developer and got quick and very responsive reply. A good developer is always one of an apps best features.
Continu is one of those applications that tries to scratch that one itch that keeps bugging you, and it does a pretty good job. I do get legitimately annoyed at applications that close when I click the X traffic light, so an app that can spare me some of that annoyance won't just increase my productivity but may lower my blood pressure, too.
Nice for opening applications when you need them and keeping them open, but the price is a bit high.
In response to the things to Paula, I'm looking into
adding "Open at Login", it is at the top of my features to be added list.

I have a number of apps that I need to keep running, but sometimes crash or are accidentally closed and Continu is perfect for making sure all apps stay open or reopen. I use Lingon on my 2008 Macbook, and that works fine, but Continu is much more intuitive (for someone like myself who isn't super computer savvy), and the UI is more attractive -- a great addition to my mid 2012 Macbook Pro. I did have a small problem with the Continu not opening, but I contacted the developer and fixed the issue quickly. Great communication, great app!
